The striking rurality of this area, its traditions and the hospitality of its people, with maximum exponent during the Bodo de Leite festivities are, without a doubt, unforgettable experiences with an “intense flavor” possible to experience on this itinerary.
To begin the day, we suggest one of the following options:
• At the farm Quinta Feliz you will find an authentic and complete experience, with a taste of the countryside, where you can participate in daily agricultural activities, look after the domestic animals, ride an ox cart or milk a cow.
• We start the day very early at agriculture exploration Emanuel Fontes – Fontes Farm in Ribeira Seca area, which offers us a unique and exciting experience. Here we are welcomed by the curious cows, who approach us waiting their turn to be milked. It is possible to milk Teimosa or other cows of the herd, as well as, get to know all the singularity of a dairy farm.
We are heading to Finisterra Factory, production site of Topo cheese. Once again, the pride and friendliness of those who produce Topo cheese is the hallmark during the visit to Finisterre . On a journey through the history of cheese making, in which all stages are proudly described, we end with a cheese tasting in the land where the sun rises.
We finish our route with a walk through the center of Vila do Topo, highlighting the heritage of the Flemish Community and Wilhelm Van der Haegen – promoter of the production of Queijo de São Jorge – the architecture of the Church of N. Sra. do Rosário and the Casa dos Tiagos.

Quinta Feliz is a family project and we want to share the true day-to-day experience of agriculture and farming. In our activities, if you choose to come in the morning, we start by milking the cows, then we leave the milk at Finisterre, to see the process before our milk becomes Topo cheese. Change the wire to the cows in Ramo Grande. We passed by the Cruzal waterfall for a delicious outdoor picnic with the sound of the waterfall. We will take care of the calves, domestic animals such as rabbits, chickens, pigs, goats and the dwarf donkey where they have the opportunity to take it for a ride. We take a ride on an ox cart, the means of transport most used by our contemporaries and which today forms part of our Jorgense culture. To finish, we go to Cabeço da Cruz where you have a stunning view over our parish. If you come to visit us in the afternoon it will be all this but reversed. But if you opt for the whole day, you'll never have the same day-to-day tasks to do. Yes, because here at our Quinta Feliz, no two days are the same.
Our activity provides ox cart rides lasting approximately 30 minutes in the parish of Santo Antão - Topo. It also provides activities linked to the day-to-day life of a farm, namely Quinta Feliz activities: going to the dairy cows; visit to the Finisterra Factory; take care of Ramo Grande cattle; take care of domestic animals; providing participation in daily tasks that always have their own particularities every day.
